This dreamy piece begins with pigmented porcelain, using high-quality clay so the lavender stay crisp and clean. The marbled patterns come from wheel-based techniques that are part design and part improvisation. A clear glaze is applied with a very subtle floating glaze that creates some soft color changes. Color variations, crackling and light markings are part of the nature of handmade work, and reflect the character of each piece.
